As we venture deeper into truth and conscious media, it seems more and more people are awakening to the reality that humanity is not what we have been led to believe for so long. A great part of society is still manipulated and force-fed real ‘fake news’ only to go on trusting the narratives delivered by mainstream media. Fortunately, there are advocates, journalists, and artists alike pushing others to be open to and see the truth for what it is.
The good, the bad, and the ugly – we are set to face not only our own shadows but those of our collective. Rafael Alvarez is a Spanish illustrator whose artwork is telling of where we as a society fall short today. As Bored Panda reported, “Alvarez portrays scenarios many people might find familiar. However, his technique is to highlight an angle few people consider. And, that angle is usually quite shocking. Like many artistic activists, Alvarez is hoping to “stun” the public awake with his mind-opening illustrations. After all, if one blindly accepts their reality without questioning the “how’s” and “why’s” of life, then one is, in fact, a sheep. As cute as sheep might be, they are more likely to fall in line without question versus work hard to create a better, healthier world.
