. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, “As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.” People no longer want to prove themselves to others.

They just want to be happy. And many people are finding the answers in minimalism.

The tiny house movement has created such a buzz, there are now television shows, books, and countless blogs dedicated to the little abodes.

The downside of the hype is the way consumerism has sought to turn the movement on its head, creating high-end tiny homes that run a pretty penny. Patrick and Cori moved here from America and decided to create a tiny home together. Using salvaged materials and their own two hands, they built it with just $10,000.
