Coven Affairs #7: March Magic
This week at The Alchemist’s Kitchen brought so much incredible energy into our space with some March magic! On Wednesday, March 23rd, Allie Lafon spent a rainy, cozy evening hosting Connection Through the Natural Arts – A craft class to celebrate the inner artist using Illuminated Ground art supplies. Allie started Illuminated Ground during the pandemic while spending time with her family in Oklahoma, where she grew up. Using her passion for foraging and sustainability, Allie created art supplies that reflect the landscape, history, and culture of the state she grew up in, as well as her roots as a member of the Cherokee Nation. Class began with a poem by Joy Harjo, “Remember”. Allie read, “Remember the earth whose skin you are: red earth, black earth, yellow earth, white earth, brown earth, we are earth”. Allie then led the group through a guided mediation (made even more peaceful by the raindrops falling gently outside). Each of us had an element in front of our station: dirt, seashells from the ocean, twigs, feathers to represent air. We then used these elements to create an alter and open up our creative space.
Then it was time to play. We used all different Illuminated Ground art supplies to create. A favorite was using the stone ground glitter to add sparkle without using micro-plastics harmful to the environment. We hope to have Allie back soon and continue fostering a creative community at our Elixir Bar! This weekend we were joined by Nicole Broderick, who offered mini consults for Nutrition Response Testing. What is NRT? NRT is a non-invasive system of assessing the body’s organs, systems, and functions to determine all areas of distress in the body and the underlying causes of that distress. We are able to uncover all toxicities and deficiencies in the body, so we can begin to safely and effectively detox the body. Your Weekly Dose Of Wellness Receive the latest savings, events, herbal education and 10% Off your first purchase. Nicole begins by using her test kit to identify whether the body has existing parasites, toxic metals, or allergies to specific foods.
Then she walks each person over to our abundance of products, supplements, and herbs to give a personal shopping experience, seeing which products respond best to the body, and creating a unique blend that your body chooses. After participating in Nicole’s mini consults, guests received 15% of recommended products. Nicole is our neighbor and her practice is located a few blocks away from us. She offers more in-depth, comprehensive, one-on-one health and lifestyle counseling. Check out her WEBSITE HERE. Coming up in April we will be celebrating two of Alchemist Kitchen’s favorite holidays, Earth Day and 4/20. We have a lot more in-person experiences in April as well as virtual options. Check out our event offerings HERE – We hope to see you soon! The Alchemist's Kitchen is dedicated to connecting you with the power of plants. We believe strongly in the education and instruction on the use of all whole plant formulations and herbal remedies.
