Facebook Censorship Heightens, Our Quantum Reality & Reader Love (Weekly Q&A)

If you wish to ask a question for next week's QA, reach out to us at contact@collective-evolution.com At the time of recording this, the story of the 58 independent media pages that were deleted from Facebook has not hit my desk yet. When I was speaking about Facebook censorship in this video I was referring to how extreme our reach has been cut over the last two years. This resulted in an 80% decline in our reach, and revenue.
The graph you see below illustrates how intense this truly has been. We often are unsure of how exactly viewers connect with how intense this censorship really is, so we have begun sharing a lot more details of what it actually looks like. It isn’t a story here and there, or only during elections or anything of that nature. It’s systemic all-out destruction of independent media and our revenues to continue. It has even been speculated that advertising exchanges, the means by which independent media funds itself through ads, give lower traction and payouts to independent media, saving higher paying ads for ‘premium websites’ i.e. mainstream media. This we feel, in speculation, is also an attack on independent media revenues. This has led us to the very reality that we have to begin receiving financial support from our community to keep independent conscious media alive. First, let’s have a look at this graph. The red lines are an algorithm change on Facebook. You can see that every six months or so, in early June and early Dec of every year, Facebook cuts our reach and revenue once again.
The overall downward trend for the next 6 months is quite obvious. Note that in September of 2017, we attempted to hack this algorithm with new strategies, but this didn’t work for long. As you can see, with social media platforms shutting us out, and with no alternative platform that has a large user base, we have to come up with a solution. In the mainstream media, platforms like The Guardian, The New York Times, Medium, and many more, are now putting up paywalls or asking their community for subscription support, and it’s working very well for them.
Their multi-million dollar monthly budgets from community support are affording them the ability to keep going, meaning mainstream media is all good. But over here in independent conscious media, we continue to scrape by. So we developed our monthly support campaign where you can now begin supporting CE monthly so we can stay alive and keep delivering this important message. And yes, that means no paywalls for our website as we want our articles, podcasts and news stories to reach as far as possible.
