Full Moon in Sagittarius: Synthesizing Our Thoughts With A ‘Big Picture’ Awareness

We will be having a Full Moon in Sagittarius on Tuesday, June 2nd at 4:19pm Universal Time (Click here to see your time zone).

Full Moon in Sagittarius: Synthesizing Our Thoughts With A ‘Big Picture’ Awareness

Full Moons are the peak of the Moon cycle, as this is when the light of the Sun completely fills the Moon and marks the beginning of the following 2 weeks when the light starts fading. This is known as the “waning phase.” Symbolically, because this is when the light begins to recede, this represents a time of “release.” Full Moons are generally the most intense time of the Moon cycle and are also a very lively time.

The astrological themes for each Full Moon can start to be felt in the week leading up to it.

The events and circumstances that occur in our lives on the exact day ‘usually’ challenge us. The Sun and Moon are opposite each other, so whatever signs they are in will most strongly influence the themes. Just like the New Moon, you can also have intentions for the Full Moon, with the difference being that for this phase your intentions should be associated with some sort of release, but only if need be. If you have been feeling that there is something to let go of, then use this period for the most powerful effect. You can also use Full Moons to begin a cleanse or detox. Sometimes the events and circumstances that happen to us around the Full Moon will create an awareness within ourselves that we need to change or let go of something. However, this is not always the case. Some Full Moon circumstances might just help you bring something to your awareness to help you make better choices. During this Full Moon we will be experiencing a tug of war between Gemini and Sagittarius themes.

The Sun in Gemini will signify ego needs and the Moon in Sagittarius our emotional needs. Gemini rules the mind and how we think. It is associated with all types of communication and articulation. Gemini is also associated with information, both obtaining it and sharing it. Sagittarius is the opposite sign, which means it is the opposite polarity of the same energy.

They are both intellectual and love learning, with Gemini being more logical and concerned with details and Sagittarius being more concerned with the big picture and philosophy, whether it is logical or not. Sagittarius is the seeker of truth, and will go far and wide to obtain it. It challenges Gemini to embrace knowledge from a “higher perspective” and to synthesize it with intuition and experience. Gemini teaches Sagittarius not to overlook the details and facts, and to be more tolerant and objective towards other’s ideas and information. Mercury has been in a backwards retrograde motion since May 18th until June 11th. It is helping us to adjust the way we think and communicate, which I spoke about in my last article here. This signifies that the Gemini side of this polarity is going through a re-adjustment. Rethinking our ideas or revisiting old ones can be a theme but with the Full Moon in Sagittarius, we also need to trust our intuition and inner truth. Sagittarius is a highly intuitive sign and so is Mercury when it is retrograde, so literally speaking, this is a good time to “lose your mind.” Be reflective during this period and open to new perspectives and viewpoints that you come into contact with.

These things will help you to make the necessary adjustments in the way you think and communicate. From an Earth-based astrological perspective, the Sun is right in between Mercury and Mars. Mars, being an assertive planet in Gemini, likes to present its ideas and ways of thinking in a competitive way. Combined with Mercury retrograde and Moon Sagittarius, this could indicate a time where we find ourselves in debates and arguments that can ultimately result in us reshaping our thinking and perspectives in the long term. Jupiter is in a configuration with this Full Moon and it also rules Sagittarius. Unlike Mercury, it is moving forward. This is more of a time to embrace the “big picture” understanding of things and not get too caught up in the details for now. By opening ourselves up to a broader perspective and by connecting the dots, this can influence the changes that we need to make in the way we think and learn. Saturn is also in Sagittarius in retrograde motion, which is a strong indicator of a period involving restructuring of our personal beliefs and philosophies. Jupiter in Leo is about exploring, experiencing, and expanding in or through our self-expression. Uranus is also influencing Jupiter with supportive energy, which can help provide insights as well as as expose us to new, unconventional, or revolutionary ideas and perspectives. Combined with a retrograde Mercury, this suggests recalibrating our mind through a new awareness of ourselves.

The Sun and Moon are separating from a T-Square with Neptune. Some of the knowledge and beliefs we have acquired in the past may have been deceptive and misleading, and could have made us confused. We may have also found ourselves escaping in ways that prevent us from developing either our mind or perspective. This Full Moon can help us to see things in new ways and challenge our egos to stop avoiding personal growth. It can also to push us to be able to synthesize information and knowledge with our personal intuition and experiential wisdom. If you feel that there is something that you need to release from your life, set that intention after the Moon starts to wane, up to 24 hours after 4:19pm Universal Time (Click here for your time zone).

The best types of things to release right now are negative mental patterns, ideas, beliefs, and ways of thinking that no longer serve you. Sagittarius rules the liver, so if you are a health enthusiast, the next 7 days following this Full Moon are a good time to start a liver detox. This is a good period to learn and expand in your understanding of the World, the Universe, and Yourself. Be open to information or experiences that are presented to you. Keep an eye on what shows up on social media, as something you may need to learn can pop up there. Of course also be open to your intuitions and what they are telling you. Full Moons are always a more social time, and Gemini and Sagittarius are also highly social signs. This is a great time to connect with people, especially in circumstances where there is a lot of exchange of information, ideas, and perspectives. —– To get a personalized reading with astrologer Carmen Di Luccio, or for more information, visit his website here. .
