Full Moon In Virgo: Self-Care & Growth In Relationships

We are having a Full Moon in Virgo on March 1st-2nd depending on your geographic location. It will appear the fullest on the night of March 1st in most areas of the world.

Full Moon In Virgo: Self-Care & Growth In Relationships

. It will also be the first of two Full Moons in the calendar month of March, which means that at the end of the month we will be having the second Blue Moon of the year which is very rare. This Full Moon is part of the same Moon cycle of the last Solar Eclipse in Aquarius that we had on February 15th. It is possible that some of the themes of that eclipse can still be strong and can continue over the next few weeks until the end of this lunation cycle. However, eclipse themes are generally still present over the following 4-6 months until the next series of eclipses. We have been in Pisces season since February 18th when the Sun entered this sign. Venus and Mercury are also there and they have all been joining Neptune which has been in Pisces since 2011. In modern astrology, Neptune is considered to be a ruler or co-ruler of Pisces and can really amplify Piscean energies whenever other planets are travelling through that sign. (I generally view it as a sub-ruler depending on the astrological application). Pisces is a water sign associated with compassion, spirituality, creativity, dreams, faith, oneness, sensitivity, and imagination. It is a sign that is generally more accepting, forgiving, and has a heightened psychic receptivity. On the downside, Pisces energy can be spacey, confusing, flakey, weak willed, impractical, with a tendency to escape the hard realities of the real world. This Full Moon is happening in its opposite sign of Virgo, triggering a need to balance these energies. A Full Moon can sometimes bring up challenges or a push-pull effect related to the signs that the Sun and Moon are occupying. However, it can also be a period of integrating these energies as well, which is ultimately what we usually want to aim for. This could be more easily done this time around due to the configuration of planets. Virgo is an Earth sign and is more concerned with the physical world. It is practical, efficient, hard working, analytical, organized, pure, meticulous, and reliable. It is also associated with how we take care of ourselves; our lifestyle and our bodies. On the downside, Virgo energy can be overly critical, petty, and perfectionist. Both signs are associated with healing; Virgo being connected to physical health and Pisces to spiritual and emotional health. Virgo related healing modalities include good nutrition, herbs, cleansing, physical exercise, and even conventional medicine and approaches. However, anything on the physical side would be somewhat connected to Virgo. Pisces related healing modalities include meditation techniques, energy healing on the aura/chakras and changing behavioural patterns in the subconscious mind. For some people, this Full Moon and the next few weeks can be a good time to consider or start physical healing modalities, which also have emotional or spiritual benefits. For example, going on a cleanse or some sort of fast would be a great way to do this especially since Virgo rules the digestive system. During this Full Moon, Mercury and Venus are in a close conjunction with each other while in a tight trine with Jupiter in Scorpio. Mercury is the ruler of Virgo and Jupiter is the traditonal ruler of Pisces, therefore this aspect really helps to harmonize the polarity of these two signs. This is a great energy for socializing and communication with others.

The Mercury-Venus-Pisces combination helps us to connect with others with love, unification, selflessness, compassion, forgiveness, as well as sharing our feelings and our values connected to any of these things. With Jupiter in Scorpio in the mix, this can help to provide growth, expansion, and can even be transformative and explorative. This energy can also manifest as financial benefits for some people, however, because this is occuring in water signs, it leans more towards emotional connectivity with others. In some cases, this energy can even be good for making pleasurable travel plans or putting energy towards a creative marketing or educational effort. Chiron is also close to Venus and Mercury. This could emphasize many of the things already mentioned above. Chiron could also help us to heal wounds, blockages, and negative patterns around love, relationships, communication, the mind, and connection. It could also just bring up or trigger these types of wounds and help us to reflect on them. In some cases, there could be a theme of taking more of a holistic approach to these areas. This energy will be strongest on March 4th and some of it on the 5th as well. Also on March 4th, the Sun will also be exactly conjunct Neptune which is building up now and will pick up more so on March 3rd. Spirituality and psychic receptivity will be more heightened at that time. It is a great energy for doing creative work or anything where you seek divine inspiration, imagination, and connection to ethereal energies. It could also be a good time to indulge in the creative efforts of others. Perhaps watching a good movie, going to an art show, or immersing yourself in some music that makes you feel good. However, this energy can also be challenging when it comes to doing anything that is analytical and involves details. Ourselves or others can be less grounded, confused, forgetful, and flaky. Also, a tendency towards escapism and fantasizing can be high, which could be a good thing or bad thing depending on your approach to escaping reality and whether or not it is actually serving you. It is best to be in ‘the flow’ at that time and do things that are more conducive to this energy. What can you do to take better care of yourself both physically and spiritually? What changes do you need to make to your lifestyle to help strengthen your connection to your spiritual self? What do you need to do in order to be more grounded, efficient, organized, and practical to make your creative or spiritual efforts a reality? What can you do to help to heal your relationships with others or your own personal blockages getting in the way? Do you need to communicate with more compassion and sensitivity? These are just some examples of what to consider at this time, however, not limited to them either.

The waning Full Moon and the two weeks following can also be a good time to release things from our lives. This can also include cleansing (our bodies and spaces), detoxifying, or pursuing to heal negative patterns that do not serve you..

The exact time of this Full Moon is at 12:51am Universal Time March 2nd, which works out to be the later part of March 1st in the Americas.

The Moon begins its waning phase at that point which is usually the most potent time to initiate releasing.
