Is Something Holding You Back? It’s Time To Face Your Fears! I Did & You Can Too

Some of you reading this article have perhaps read some of my articles before and know me as one of the core writers of the Collective Evolution team over the past seven years. But many of you have probably never seen me before, unless you’ve been around for a while and watched some of our early documentaries, or seen some of my very embarrassing cooking videos. See, making videos is something that I have felt guided to do for a long time. I feel like I have a lot to share with the world and unfortunately these days people are more inclined to watch a video than to read a whole article, so this is where we are headed. In many ways this is a good thing, as it forces us to really be seen, on a new level. It’s easy to hide behind your words on a computer screen, and although these words can be very moving and heartfelt, video adds a new level to the vulnerability that is shared. Someone once told me that if there is something you couldn’t imagine yourself doing, or that seems foreign to you or terrifies you, then it is something that you probably (absolutely) should be doing. For example, as afraid as I am to be doing videos, deep down I know it is right and I have felt very guided to express myself in this way for a number of years, because as scary as it is, it is also very exciting. If you are letting your fear of being seen hold you back in life, it’s now time to face that fear. It is your time to shine, and this is something that can easily be overcome. For starters, and I probably don’t need to even say it, but you just have to do it.

There is no other way to overcome your fears than to fully immerse yourself in them and face them head on. Yes, it’s one thing to know this wisdom and another to actually do it, but you have to ask yourself, do you want to live a life where you are holding yourself back, missing out on so many experiences and not living your highest truth, because you have a fear that you simply cannot overcome? How much is that feeling of safety, or that comfort zone, worth to you? Once you overcome this obstacle, a whole new world will open up for you. This is something I know from experience. Why wait another moment living in a world of fear and not reaching your true potential? Do you think anyone who has gone skydiving jumped out of a plane and upon landing said, “I wish I never did that, that was horrible”? There is a lot of excitement in our fears; I think that is what separates the various types of fear, because yes, obviously we are afraid of coming face to face with a grizzly bear or stepping into oncoming traffic — that is a legitimate fear for your safety. But if there is some excitement hidden in that fear, such as maybe going to an event by yourself to connect with other like-minded people, yes, there is some fear there, but I bet on some level there is also a lot of excitement for what this could potentially bring into your life. So, for me personally, I realized I was always making up excuses, I would often think, No one is going to care what I have to say, why should I bother making videos, my story isn’t important, I don’t have the proper equipment to make videos, so I can’t, yada, yada, yada. But you see, when it comes down to it, those are all just excuses that cater to fear and hold me back from doing what I know deep down I should be doing. I hope that my video below can serve as inspiration to any of you who are feeling called to step into your higher power or purpose, but feel afraid to do it.

The beauty of this is that you simply cannot make a wrong decision. Anything that comes after you face your fears is there to serve you in some way or another. It’s important to remember that everything is perfect no matter what. There, I did it: I faced my fear and put myself out there, and you know what? It really wasn’t that bad at all. You can do it too! Much Love .
