NASA Confirms: There Could Be A Salt Water Ocean On Jupiter’s Moon With More Water Than Earth

Scientists estimate that billions of Earth-like planets already exist, and that’s only in our galaxy. Think about all of the billions, if not trillions, of habitable worlds that exist within the billions, if not trillions of galaxies that are floating through space. Now contemplate the idea that not all worlds have to be “Earth-like” in order to harbour some form of extraterrestrial life – be it microbial or intelligent. NASA is reporting that the Hubble Space Telescope has detected what could be an underground saltwater ocean on Ganymede, which is Jupiter’s largest moon. Underwater oceans made headlines not long ago when diamond expert Graham Pearson, of the University of Alberta, claimed that an ocean the size of all of the Earth’s oceans combined, or more, exists in the “Transition Zone” thousands of kilometres beneath the earth. He published his findings in the journal Nature, you can read more about that here and here. “This discovery marks a significant milestone, highlighting what only Hubble can accomplish. In its 25 years in orbit, Hubble has made many scientific discoveries in our own solar system. A deep ocean under the icy crust of Ganymede opens up further exciting possibilities for life beyond Earth.” – John Grunsfeld, associate administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, Washington. (source) Scientists are estimating that the ocean is 100 kilometers thick, which is approximately 10 times deeper than the oceans on Earth.

They also believe it is buried under approximately 150 kilometers of ice and crust. As NASA explains: “Ganymede is the largest moon in our solar system and the only moon with its own magnetic field.

The magnetic field causes aurorae, which are ribbons of glowing, hot electrified gas, in regions circling the north and south poles of the moon. Because Ganymede is close to Jupiter, it is also embedded in Jupiter’s magnetic field. When Jupiter’s magnetic field changes, the aurorae on Ganymede also change, “rocking” back and forth. By watching the rocking motion of the two aurorae, scientists were able to determine that a large amount of saltwater exists beneath Ganymede’s crust affecting its magnetic field.” (source) Every year at an exponential rate our understanding of our solar system and beyond continues to increase and change what we once thought. This type of information is definitely mind-opening for many and helps to further our understanding of the possibility for life in outer space. Just as John Grunsfeld, associate administrator of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters, said in one of the quotes above, this new discovery creates further exciting possibilities for life beyond Earth. Top astronomers and scientists from around the world, and the whole scientific community in general, believe that life beyond Earth (microbial and/or intelligent) exists without question. For example, two top astronomers from the SETI Institute (Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence) recently appeared in front of the congressional House Science and Technology Committee for a hearing regarding the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.

They did mention however, that they do not believe that intelligent extraterrestrial life has, or has ever, visited the planet before. On the other hand, we have had scientists, academicians, high ranking military personnel, politicians, and more state that intelligent extraterrestrial life has and still is visiting our planet. Not long ago, John Podesta, Councillor to Barack Obama and former Chief of Staff at the White House under the Clinton administration, tweeted that his biggest regret ending the 2014 campaign was not being able to secure the disclosure of (still) classified UFO documents. Despite this tweet, thousands of pages of UFO-related documents have been released, and while none of them have proved the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life, they do confirm and prove the existence of UFOs.

They also make clear the high level of interest from governments/military/intelligence agencies in this matter.

The UFO phenomenon is another factor that has people scratching their heads.

There are many examples where objects have been tracked on radar and at the same time confirmed visually by military pilots.

The objects in some cases have interfered with electrical equipment inside of the jets, have traveled at tremendous speeds, and have used methods and performed maneuvers that defy our current laws of physics.
