New Moon In Gemini: Integrating Dualities & Being Versatile In Our Actions

. This is when there is no light on the Moon, but then the light slowly starts to increase again, becoming visible over the following days. This is known as the beginning of the waxing phase, which lasts until the Full Moon and is associated with growth and expansion. New Moons are a great time to plant seeds, set intentions, or perform actions in relation to what you would like to grow or manifest over the upcoming cycle. It is best to do this as close to the minute of the New Moon as possible, but it can also be done over the following 24 hours (calculate your time zone). As the moon’s light grows and expands, your intentions and actions could continue to develop further. How everything unfolds for each person also depends on how one is being individually influenced by the astrology. This New Moon gives us a fresh start for moving forward after Gemini’s ruler Mercury has been retrograde in its own sign. This past month has been a time of re-grouping, re-working, re-doing, re-visiting, re-thinking, and re-orientating. In this period, many of us needed to look at an area of our life and consider how to make it better. For others, this may have been shown to them. Over the last week we have begun to make adjustments in accordance with this.

The New Moon signals a time where we are now ready to start moving forward in a new way based on what we have realized or learned, in whatever area of life Mercury has affected us. Gemini is associated with the mind, communication, and information. Being quick thinking, mentally adaptable, and open to different perspectives is Gemini territory. Known as the sign of the “twins,” it represents “duality” – understanding and accepting that different or opposing viewpoints, behaviours, and actions all serve the “whole.” This is one of the “higher callings” of the Gemini energy, and this New Moon can give us a fresh start in how we apply this understanding in our lives. All the different perspectives that we have as individuals are relative to both our knowledge and wisdom, which ultimately frame our reference point. When we embody the higher callings of Gemini, we can develop our own perspectives further, or at least become more understanding and tolerant of others. Both the mental and dualistic attributes of Gemini are also expressed within the polarity of our linear/analytical left-brain and our creative/intuitive right-brain. When we integrate these polarities in our lives, that’s where the magic happens. If we have had these polarities imbalanced within us, then this past Mercury retrograde could of been a time where circumstances may have shifted this. If so, then now is a time where we can begin to move forward in way that is mentally integrative. Mars, the planet of action, assertiveness, urgency, and willpower, is also in Gemini in a close conjunction with this New Moon. We may find ourselves needing to take some sort of action as a result of the aftermath of Mercury retrograde. Circumstances or new developments that have come up over the last month are now ready to be acted upon and may require us to be versatile or adaptable. We may also feel a sense of urgency to literally just “jump right in” to something as a result. Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries are making supportive aspects during this New Moon. This energy provides this Moon cycle with an energy that is exciting, new, unconventional, authentically creative, and expansive. For some people it can feel exhilarating and their may even be some sudden doses of luck. Although this energy will be present over the first 2 weeks following the New Moon, the strongest doses of it will be from June 19th – 23rd, as well as June 29th – 30th, when Venus and the Moon get involved. Considering that we recently finished Mercury Retrograde, a good intention to have can be related to any of the new developments or changing circumstances that have happened over the last month. You can intend to “move forward” in a new way that is more integrative, adaptable, and ultimately versatile. Intending to balance creativity, intuition, and imagination with logic, analysis, and strategy can also be a good intention for this New Moon. Remember that it is best to declare or write down your intentions within the first 24 hours after the New Moon. It will be on Tuesday, June 16th in most countries and early morning on June 17th in parts of Australia and New Zealand.
