Sex is Binary

Sex is defined by the role that an individual – whether human, plant or animal – is naturally designed to have during the reproductive act, Dr. Cretella explained.

Males are naturally structured to donate genetic material during the reproductive act; in the case of humans, this is sperm. Females are naturally designed to receive genetic material during the reproductive act.

The sex of an organism is determined at fertilisation by sex determining genes.

It is an objective fact that sex is binary, innate, immutable and cannot be changed by dressing in a certain way, or by drugs or surgery, Dr. Cretella said.

Some may argue that intersex people – who are born with, or who develop naturally in puberty, biological sex characteristics that are not typically male or female – prove that sex is not binary. However, they are conflating sex development disorders with sex.

In about 0.02% (or 2 in 10,000) of live births, infants are born with disorders of sex development or, as some people prefer to call it, “intersex.” There are a few categories of disorders. Ambiguous genitalia is a rare condition where a baby is born with external genitalia that are not clearly defined as male or female. Some intersex people have characteristics of both sexes, such as male chromosomes (XY) and genitalia that appears female (vulva) or female chromosomes (XX) and genitalia that appears male (penis). These rare developmental disorders and should not be conflated with the definition of sex, which is binary: male or female.

Language about Gender is Weaponised

Gender is linked to sex, where sex is male or female, and gender is masculine or feminine.

The intense focus on identifying girls who did not behave like a typical girl or boys who did not behave typically as a boy as “transgender” began in the 1950s with Dr. John Money, a psychologist and sexual predator.

Dr. Money worked in the field of sexology, the study of human sexual behaviour and sexuality. He wanted to justify his idea of “treating” male transsexuals using surgery. To justify his harmful treatments, he used language.

“He took the term ‘gender’ and added a new definition,” Dr. Cretella said. Dr. Money claimed he was treating an “internal sexed identity” called “gender” that could differ from a person’s biological sex. “That’s where the false definition [of gender] entered the medical and psychological fields, through Dr. Jon Money,” Dr. Cretella explained.

Gender Dysphoria is Psychological

Gender dysphoria refers to a person’s thoughts and feelings.

Sex is a physical characteristic, male or female, but there is no physical characteristic for gender.

Gender identity refers to a cognitive awareness of oneself as either male or female, Dr. Cretella explained. A person with a healthy gender identity correctly identifies their sex and feels psychologically and emotionally comfortable with who God made them to be.

On the other hand, a child or adult with gender dysphoria has a psychological or emotional discomfort with his/her biological sex.

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is a resource utilised by clinicians and researchers for diagnosing and classifying mental disorders. The Fifth Edition of the manual, published in 2013, explains that “this [gender] discomfort with one’s body also comes along with a desire to be seen as either the opposite sex or somewhere between the two sexes,” Dr. Cretella said.

“Gender affirming care” promotes that people with gender dysphoria can change their sex. People cannot change their sex. Gender affirming ideology that says people can determine their sex after birth is a psychologically dangerous lie. And some people who were subjected to this lie have been physically maimed by it and are worse off for it.

A Swedish study published in 2011 followed sex-reassignment patients for 30 years. The study found that 10 years after surgical or hormonal gender reassignment, the mental health of transitioners was significantly worse than the mental health of the general population. 30 years after reassignment, transitioners had a suicide rate 19 times that of the general population.

Dr. Cretella described the personal experiences of some people who have been on these drugs. “Anecdotally, many of the young people who have ‘transitioned’ with drugs and/or surgeries, when they desist, they are telling us: ‘I wasn’t suicidal when I wanted to go on the drugs, but I did become suicidal afterwards. I was just going along with it because the doctors told my parents, ‘Hey, if you don’t give them puberty blockers or you don’t give them cross-sex hormones, they will kill themselves, do you want a dead daughter or a live son?’’ So, it’s emotional blackmail,” she said.

Transgender Ideology is Anti-Human

“What’s very key for people to understand,” Dr. Cretella said, “is that the transgender ideology, the transgender movement, is anti-human. It is redefining what it is to be human. It’s [also] anti-Christian.”

The Bible tells us that we are body, soul (mind) and spirit. Gender ideology is ignoring two integral parts of being human – body and spirit – and claiming that we are only soul; it’s all in our heads. “It’s just what we think, what we feel [that’s important to gender ideologues], our bodies are inconsequential,” she said. “That is the key to understanding this [gender] movement. It’s anti-human because true human anthropology comes from God – we’re body and soul.”

People with gender dysphoria should not be made to feel they should harm their bodies to become their “true selves.” As most people would agree, true gender gender-affirming care is care that will help children and adults to embrace their bodies, to feel good about their physical selves.

Gender Affirming Care is Psychologically Abusive and Leads to Mutilation of Children’s Bodies

Unfortunately, with the nefarious gender ideology still being pervasive and controlling decision makers in medicine and education, from pre-school to tertiary institutions, gender affirming care is still defined as social acceptance of the child’s delusion, as well as helping that child change their name and physical appearance to physically impersonate the opposite sex.

The false gender affirming care also encourages the use of puberty blockers and “wrong sex” hormones. These drugs chemically mutilate children, Dr. Cretella said.

Lying to children by affirming a false gender identity is psychological abuse. It is reinforcing a delusion and embracing a psychological disorder. If parents and adults are encouraging this psychological disorder in children from a young age, from pre-school say, “it is no wonder by the time they reach age 7 or 8 … they realise [that as they get older] their bodies are going to [change and] bring them face to face with the truth.”

“That causes them extreme anxiety,” Dr. Cretella said. “So, they’re anxious about the normal and critical process of puberty. Puberty is not a disease! It is a critical healthy period of mental, emotional [and] social development as well as sexual development.”

“By reinforcing the [transgender] lie, you are guaranteeing that they are going to be ready to embrace drugs for life, the medical track,” she added.

The most common puberty blocker that is prescribed is Lupron, an FDA-approved treatment for diseases such as central precocious puberty in children. Using Lupron for gender dysphoria is causing a disease instead of treating it.

“Puberty is not a disease. So, when you have a child who is physically well and is going to start their normal puberty and you want to block it, you’re preventing them from going through a critically necessary stage of development. So, that’s harmful in and of itself,” Dr. Cretella said.

Add to that the side effects associated with taking the drug, she said. “Lupron can cause mental disorders, mental illness. Lupron can cause depression and anxiety, emotions that are all over the place … So, what are we doing giving this to children who are already plagued with depression and anxiety, in addition to not wanting to be in their bodies.”

A worse side effect of puberty blockers is that, even though a person can stop taking them, the drug permanently reduces bone quality. “[Children] will never attain their true adult height or adult bone strength even after they are removed from the puberty blocker,” Dr. Cretella warned.

It is also known that puberty blockers prevent the normal organisation and development of brain cells that takes place during puberty. “So, we’re potentially lowering their IQ,” she said.

In addition to all that, Dr. Cretella said, girls who have not yet started their periods before they are put on puberty blockers will not produce mature eggs. Boys who are put on puberty blockers between the ages of 8 and 13 will not produce mature sperm. “So, if [children are] put on the blockers early and then the cross-sex hormones come in, you’ve now permanently sterilised them.”

The cross-sex hormones, or “wrong sex” hormones as Dr. Cretella calls them, are oestrogen and testosterone. Young girls will be given testosterone, and young boys will be given oestrogen. This also carries risks.

Children and adults are being put on doses of oestrogen and testosterone that are higher than what is excreted by cancerous tumours. In other words, children are being exposed to higher doses of hormones than if they had a hormone-secreting tumour. “The risks are cardiac disease, heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, cancers [and] sugar dysregulation like diabetes, ” she warned.

“We are chemically mutilating and diseasing our children, on top of sterilising many of them,” she said. “Puberty blockers alone [without surgery], diminish, if not eliminate, sexual pleasure once these young children attain adulthood.”

“It is demonic on so many levels,” Dr. Cretella said.

The Gender Industry Profiting Off Vulnerable People

The children and teens who get placed on the path of medical treatments and procedures for gender reassignment are forever enslaved to Big Pharma and Big Medicine.

“The chemicals, the drugs and the surgery [ ] are basically [making people] chemical and surgical ‘drag queens’ … Because drugs and surgeries can never change your genetics, [they] cannot change your actual sex, once you’re on the medical path, if you want to continue embracing the lie, you will be a medical patient for life. You need to be on those toxic medications for life just to maintain the appearance [of the opposite sex],” Dr. Cretella said.

“At the most basic level, you are absolutely enslaved to Big Medicine and Big Pharma,” she added.

Resources for Parents Who Want to Help Their Children

Dr. Cretella suggested three resources where people can find help.

The first is Advocates Protecting Children, which has resources for parents, including videos to advise on how to have conversations with their children who are or might be experiencing gender dysphoria.

The second resource Dr. Cretella suggested is Biological Integrity, which has been developed by the American College of Paediatricians. There is a section on the website that is specifically for parents.

Thirdly, Therapy First, an organisation created by mental health professionals who are in favour of gender exploratory therapy, which involves healing children with psychotherapy.
