Spells for Spring Awakening

. Perfect balance allows certain rituals and spells to take a deeper, more vital hold on your manifestations. So, I’ve gathered three spells for newcomers and old souls to try to harness the power of spring awakening.

The late fall and winter slumps can bring anyone to their lowest points. Cold weather, dark skies, and the constant bare trees most of us experience on the East Coast have a way of wiggling into our psyche and bringing us down. That’s why, when those first few warm days of spring roll in, you feel like you are coming out of a long, uncomfortable slumber.

The greenery unfurls, the clouds chase away, and spring finally sprung. Practitioners of witchcraft will use a shift in the seasons to power up their manifestations and spellwork.

The Spring Equinox is a caffeine charge right to the spiritual center of everyone’s being. To become more in tune with the natural spring awakening of the world, I recommend spending time outside while everything begins to warm. When you notice the temperature rising, make some time throughout the weeks to take a walk, start freshening up your gardens, or sit in some grass and dig your fingers into the dirt. Feel nature with all your senses.

Then, you’ll have ample opportunities and energy to manage your spring awakening spells. I have collected three beginner-friendly spells for aspiring witches.

These rituals can be conducted alone or with a friend (more than one will make it a coven!). Remember: all witchcraft and spellwork are done with personal power in mind. With that, let’s start spell crafting! The Spring Equinox is when the day and night are perfectly balanced. Many witches and pagans consider this a powerful time to conduct candle rituals to invite prosperity, balance, and luck into their lives. One of the most accessible candle rituals this time is the Perfect Balance Candle Ritual. Stay connected on special events, classes, and savings. 15% OFF YOUR FIRST PURCHASE You will need: The ritual truly starts the moment you hold these candles in your hands. Take both candles and have one in each palm, letting them balance you. Think about the year ahead: What do you want to experience during the next few months? Would you like to make big changes? Stick with the current flow? Put all your worries and hopes into these candles, allowing them to absorb your thoughts and, in turn, transform them into manifestations. Set your two candles side by side on their fire-safe plate. Light them simultaneously and let them burn down to the end, thus releasing your manifestation to the universe and allowing the balance of the equinox to help balance your life. This spell is for my green-thumbed witches. Those of you who tend to flowers and vegetables turn your eyes to the greenery of springtime.

The true power of the universe appears to us in the ever-dying and reawakening of nature. So, let’s work in nature today with this Flower Garden Manifestation. You will need: Prepare your pot or flowerbed for planting. Till the soil, mulch it, water it, and adjust the light to ensure the environment is ideal for your manifestation plant. Once your canvas is set up, it is time to infuse your seed, bulb, or young plant with your intentions. Hold the item, close your eyes, and focus on one aspect of your life that needs growth. Most will go with their career or a romantic relationship, but academics, hobbies, or even personal health can be an excellent theme for this manifestation ritual. Plant your manifestations into the earth and tend them like any other plant. When watering your plant, I recommend making some moon water to help it grow stronger.

The best way to gather moon water is to set a few bowls of fresh, purified water outside or on the window sill during a full moon. Let the moon’s energy infuse into the water; then, you can collect it and use it to empower your plant! Finally, it is time to wait. Patience is vital in the ritual. As spring warms the earth and nature returns, your manifestation plant will grow stronger and stronger. Tend to it like you would any other to help your power grow in tandem. Springtime brings spring cleaning. Opening the windows to let in the warm breeze is crucial to the spring experience. Sweep out the dust, polish the glasses, fluff the pillows– it’s time to straighten up! Sometimes, we forget to clean the things we can’t see. Winter can produce a lot of dark, stagnant energy. With this Spring Smoke Cleanse, you can give your living space the deepest and most energizing clean it’s experienced. You will need: Start by doing all of your spring cleaning. I mean all of it: sweeping, dusting, washing, drying, anything tangible and physical. Once your space is clean, open all available windows and doors (if able). Light your smoke-maker of choice and go through each and every room, imagining the stagnant energy being swept away by the smoke. Allow the smoke to reach every corner of the room.

The open windows allow the energy to be pulled out and replaced with the cleansing power of the smoke. Finally, let the embers fade on a fire-safe surface and finish your spring cleaning by closing the windows. That’s all there is to it! Spring awakening spells are only as good as their tools. Luckily, we at The Alchemist’s Kitchen understand that the best spell crafting is done with ethically sourced and homemade products. If you want to embrace spring to the fullest, I recommend trying out the elusive Blue Lotus Tea. This mysterious flower is a key component to lucid dreaming, so having a cup before will help you rest more accessible and open up your metaphysical self. Incense is an excellent way to ignite one’s spellmaking.

The Terracotta Incense Holder is a beautiful addition to any home. Designed by Yel Studio’s Mini Chiminea, this incense holder is a lovely statement piece that is fully functional and a fantastic way to incorporate incense into your living space.
