The Incredible Poem (With An Unexpected Twist) That Has Gone Viral In Cheering Up The World

Titled “Worst Day Ever?,” the poem found its way onto the internet through the popular poetry website poetrynation.com. From there it was read by plenty, and eventually printed off and posted on the wall of a bar in North London by an anonymous person. Londoner and social media enthusiast Ronnie Joice spotted the poem, took a picture of it, posted it to his Twitter account, and the internet took over from there. Rather than spoiling what really sets this poem apart, I’ll let you read it for yourself: To me, the poem perfectly illustrates the power our minds have in dictating how we see and feel about the world. I firmly believe that our thoughts play an essential role in the life that we live, and that by committing to grounding them in positivity, we can drastically change our lives. When caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s easy to become overwhelmed, stressed, or preoccupied to the point where life is best reflected by the version of the poem read from top to bottom. Recently finding myself in a mental rut of this nature, I decided to go on a personal development binge, consuming countless books and listening to hours of material. Books such as Tony Robbins’ Awaken the Giant Within: How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical and Financial Destiny! and audios such as Your Wish Is Your Command have all played an important role in helping me to again see life from the perspective offered in the bottom to top version of the poem. Shortly after the poem went viral, Chanie opened up to New York broadcaster 1010 WINS to explain what inspired her to write the creative piece: “I don’t think there is such a thing as the worst day ever... I wanted to show how your day is really based on how you look at things.” The poem is partially inspired by Talmudic teachings, and has been viewed well over a million times on imgur alone. Another aspect that I particularly appreciate about this story is the role that the anonymous individual played in printing and posting this piece of uplifting poetry.
