The True Meaning Of Life – Explained By 3rd Graders

What is the meaning of life? It is one of the most profound and sought after questions in the history of mankind.

The True Meaning Of Life – Explained By 3rd Graders

Many of us claim to have found it, while others continue to search for it in the teachings of historical figures, religious doctrines and admired leaders – among other places. Of all the answers I’ve come across, it’s this one presented in a video narrated by children in the 3rd grade that has resonated with me the most.

The video was posted on the YouTube channel of motivational speaker and hip hop preacher Prince Ea. Prince Ea is most notably recognized for his very powerful piece of spoken word entitled ‘Can We Auto-Correct Humanity?‘ which takes an insightful and alternative look at our use of technology and social networks. See what these 3rd graders had to say about the true meaning of life and determine whether or not it resonates with you: In 2013, we released an article entitled ‘The Top 5 Regrets of The Dying‘ which took a look, as the title suggests, at the most common regrets of those nearing the end of their life.

The article was based on the findings of a palliative nurse who worked closely with a number of elderly patients.

The nurse’s findings lined up perfectly with one of the first points presented in this video: you regret what you didn’t do far more than what you did. No matter what stage of life you are currently in, take the time to reflect upon the life that you are living. Identify what you are currently doing, whether or not the true you is happy to be doing it, list out that which you’d love to be doing and see what’s stopping you from getting there. We all know that time goes by quickly, so there is no better time than the present to live the life you’d love to live. Another great point made within the video is the importance of persistence when striving to attain something you are passionate about. Being persistent often involves overcoming two predominant hurdles: (1) your mind’s desire to have things come about easily, and (2) your mind’s excuse that you need to be “realistic.” As convincing as both of these thoughts may be at times, they are merely thoughts. Persistence is the only thing that shows your mind that you are choosing to take control of your life, that you are not limited by it and that you have the capability to be and do anything you strive for. Joe and I of the CE team discuss some helpful steps in attaining persistence within the most recent episode of our new YouTube series ‘These Guys.’ (Watch it here) Dropping all concern towards how others perceive me has undoubtedly been one of the biggest hurdles in my life – and it still challenges me to this day. I spent the vast majority of my teenage years doing whatever I had to, to ensure that the reputation I desired was upheld. As lovely as this was in some ways, it also often prevented me from being and doing what I truly wanted to be and do. Life is too short to spend any of your time letting others dictate who you are. Remind yourself to not change so that people will like you, instead be yourself and the right people will love you. .
