. Personally, I believe some of them even have a far greater intelligence than human beings, though that of course depends on how you define intelligence.

There are also a number of beings in the animal kingdom that humans still don’t understand. Whales are a great example, as scientists still know next to nothing about their social structure, communication, or behavior. Why is it generally assumed and accepted that animals are of a lower intelligence and lack empathy and emotion when there is so much evidence to the contrary? It’s amazing how much joy animals can bring to our lives, and how necessary it is for them to thrive in the world. Just take a look at what happened when wolves were brought into Yellowstone Park, Canada. This is a perfect example of the symbiotic relationship we have with every other creature and organism on this planet, and how one small change in the ecosystem can have an enormous impact, whether for better or for worse. It’s truly heartbreaking how we treat animals on our planet; from trophy hunting to factory farming, we are guilty of truly horrific acts. Billions of animas are raised for slaughter every single year in the United States alone. With so much emphasis on economic development, this type of ‘progress’ has come at a very high cost — the health and well-being of our planet and all life upon it. Earth provides more than enough resources for all beings to thrive, and human beings have the technological capacity, right now, to create an experience where all living creatures on Earth can exist together in peace.
