Capricorn Full Moon: Mastering our Vulnerability
A Capricorn Full Moon / Supermoon arrives on Thursday, at 8:40am Pacific Time, just after Mercury has stationed direct.
The frustrations of the retrograde remain unresolved as Mercury continues to stand still in the sky. But this Full Moon is beginning to offer us relief as we close the portal of eclipse season after undergoing many lessons and trials over the past several weeks.
The Sun in Cancer is forming a harmonious trine to Jupiter, exaggerating our feelings, triggers, and desires for safety and security. Meanwhile, the Moon in Capricorn asks us to stay centered and grounded—to apply intentionality and restraint as our feelings swell. We have the chance now to find balance in the way that we relate to old traumas and patterns. We can allow ourselves to feel the full spectrum of our emotions and pain without getting sucked into the undertow. At the same time, we can apply our emotional tools and disciplines without falling into repression. Where do we need do we still have work to do in our emotional processes? Where can we take greater responsibility for our lives and communication? How can we find a balance between fully feeling our emotions and not losing ourselves in unnecessary pain or catastrophe? The planets are encouraging us to transmute old patterns and traumas under this Capricorn Full Moon. We might ask ourselves if our fear of emotions is more painful than the emotions themselves. Is that fear keeping us inhibited, repressed, or avoidant? If so, we can hold ourselves upright with dignity and release that fear, feeling the tenderness of our hearts glowing with gentleness and courage. As we’ve been learning, our vulnerability is strength, not weakness.
The Capricorn Full Moon represents the dichotomy of the Mother and Father archetypes, and we can find their balance within us, nurturing us. At heart, we are all compassionate, strong, capable, and productive. We are disciplined and welcoming, soft and fierce. We are learning that our inner children are safe to express their feelings without guilt or shame, or an overbearing intellect that keeps us from experiencing our humor, exuberance, and playfulness. From here, we can gather together with loved ones and create a healthy sense of family—marked by mutual nourishment, healing, generosity, and joy. We can hold each other as we cry while encouraging the fortitude to stand up and move forward. We can feel emboldened by the wisdom and skills we’ve acquired by meeting our challenges and not giving up. On this Capricorn Full Moon, may we embody all of who we are—vulnerable, resilient, capable beings, who are stepping into our mastery. May we continue to work on healing our traumas and breaking out of limitations, feeling our feelings while remaining grounded, present, safe, and connected.
