New Moon In Virgo: Being Productive

We are having a New Moon in Virgo on August 30th, 2019.

New Moon In Virgo: Being Productive

This is initiating a 29.5 day lunar cycle and new wave of energy for the coming month; however, the astrological configurations mentioned in this article will be more prominent over the following two weeks. This cycle will include a Full Moon in Pisces on September 13th/14th. Virgo season began about a week prior yet this New Moon is triggering its themes more so.

The is be a good period of working with and co-creating with the energies of this sign. Virgo is associated with productivity, duties, service, health, cleanliness, and purity. It is organized, adaptable, conscientious, skillful, orderly, punctual, diligent, efficient, analytical, detailed, precise, and practical. Virgo is good at problem solving, adjusting to changing conditions, and coming up with solutions. Negatively, Virgo energy can also be overly critical, too cautious, fault-finding, irritable, nit-picky, discriminating, complaining, and facilitate a martyr complex. It’s perfectionist and pedantic qualities can be overwhelming and unnecessarily overboard. This Virgo New Moon is aligned with Mercury (the ruler of Virgo) and Mars, with both in the same sign. This energy is strongest from August 30th to September 4th. This can be a busy, mentally active, assertive, and productive time. We can be quick thinking and may tend to move or get things done faster than usual. We just need to be cautious of being too impulsive or hasty when making decisions, driving, or towards anything else that can result in unfavorable consequences. In the later part of this period, specifically from September 2nd-4th, is when Mercury joins the Sun in its ‘Superior Conjunction.’ This is a period in which we may experience more clarity and potential developments connected some of the themes that have been playing out in the last 1.5 months. Ideas, situations, or other things that were seeded in July can experience a change or some sort of progress. It can even result in a beginning or ending due to increased certainty. In comparison to these last few months, our minds can be more aligned with our true needs and self-expression from this period until mid-late October. We can better implement whatever we have been thinking about with greater confidence and direction. This New Moon occurs as it is in a tight trine with Uranus which was also strong on August 29th when it was triggered by the Sun in the lead up to the new lunar cycle. Virgo ruler Mercury is also moving towards this same aspect which peaks from August 31st to September 1st. This can be a period of originality, experimentation, excitement, positive changes, unusualness, or even some sort of liberation from something. We can be more inventive, insightful, innovative, and have stimulating conversations. Nice surprises and unexpected developments could occur which may require us to be flexible. Activities, actions, or conversations could be oriented around metaphysics, science, technology, or other things that are progressive and unconventional. On August 31st Mercury is in a quincunx with Chiron. We can experience some frustrations around our wounds, hurts, limitations, and blockages which may require some adjustments. Conversations and thoughts at this time may be affected by this, or themes associated with healing or wholeness may come up as well. Venus, also in Virgo, is in a trine with Saturn in Capricorn which peaks on September 1st. This can reflect some sort of stabilization, solidification, maturity, positive realism, responsibility, discipline, or commitments connected to relationships (friends or lovers), finances, values, worth, or perhaps even something associated with aesthetics. For some people this can play out as favorable developments around career and aspirations. On September 1st and into September 2nd, Venus than makes a square aspect with Jupiter in Sagittarius followed by an opposition to Neptune from September 3rd to 4th which also forming a T-square aspect on the 3rd. We can be excessive, unrealistic, confused, and have blind spots when it comes to our relations, finances, and pleasures. Alternatively, social and love matters can have a spiritual, expansive or idealistic tone at this time. This can also stimulate creativity, especially towards anything connected to media, marketing, or education. What can you do to be more productive, organized, diligent, or efficient? Do you need to acquire new skills or systematic approaches? Have you been feeling the need to implement protocols or lifestyle changes to help you to be healthier? Do you need to be of service in some way? Do you need to catch up with tasks that you have been holding off for a while? These are just some examples of what to consider or focus your intentions on at this time; however, it is good to reflect on anything else that is coming up for you. It is generally best to make any intentions within the first 24 hours following a New Moon.

The exact moment of it will be occurring at 10:37am Universal Time on August 30th. You can click here to see what that is in your ti.
