The ego is afraid of what can liberate us, and what can liberate us is ultimately our unconditioned selves; our true selves. Once we realize this, we drop our weapons, simply because we realize there is nothing to fight for. We even thank our ego for having provided us the enriching experience of forgetting who we truly are, for it has granted us the beautiful opportunity to remember and rediscover ourselves in an even grander way.
