In December, historian and author Ralph Ellis predicted that Christians and other minorities in Syria would be persecuted under the new Islamic regime. He’s not a clairvoyant. It is a predictable pattern that Islamists have demonstrated over the last 100 years.
The Assad regime in Syria collapsed on 8 December 2024, when opposition forces, led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (“HTS”) and supported by the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, captured Damascus. HTS is an Islamist militant group that repeatedly stated it would not discriminate against Syria’s minorities, including Alawites, Christians, Druze, Kurds and others, to reassure both Syrians and international observers. We now know that not to be true.
On the same day that the Assad regime fell, 8 December, Ralph Ellis tweeted the first of his warnings about the persecution of the Christians, Druze and Yazidi in Syria by the new Islamist regime. His warnings are based on the intolerance and brutal methods that Islamists have been using from the outset to impose their control over populations.

What Now for Syriac Christians After the Fall of Assad’s Alawites?
By Ralph Ellis, 8 December 2024
Islam has not been kind to unbelievers, since its very inception in the 6th century. Islam was created as a protection racket – enslaving entire populations for the benefit of Muslims, who lived off their industrious production. As my previous post describes, all unbelievers lived as dhimmi serfs, under the iron rod of the Covenant of Dhimmitude.

But what of unbelievers in Muslim-controlled lands who were deemed to be subversive, or perhaps even too successful? History records that they were dealt with very harshly indeed.
When Muhammad suspected the Jewish Banu Qurayzah tribe in Medina of betrayal, he beheaded all 800 men of that tribe.

In 1915, while the Western world was distracted by the First World War, the Turks moved against the Armenian Christians in the east of Anatolia and eliminated 3 million Christians. A dreadful and pointless holocaust that modern Turkey has still not admitted to, let alone atoned for.
The Armenian Genocide: See Wikipedia HERE.
After Britain’s failed invasion of Gallipoli in Anatolia, in 1915 while the Armenian Genocide was in progress, the Ottoman Empire eventually collapsed. Into this vacuum, the Greeks extended their control over western Anatolia, which they had already occupied for some 3,000 years. But in 1922 the Greeks were met by Kemal Ataturk’s new army – which proceeded to eliminate a million Greek civilians in the most heinous genocide of the 20th century.

And in the 1940s and 1950s, when Britain ceded control of lraq to Muslims, all of the Jews of lraq (who had formerly run the commerce of lraq), were forced out of the country. More Jews were forced into exile from Iraq and North Africa, than Plasticinians from Israel. Naim Dangoor, the last Jewish king of Iraq (or exilarch), still has a claim at the UN for $50 billion in lost assets, when he was forced into exile.

Knowing the history of Islam, what might be the future for the remaining Christians of Syria, now that Assad has gone? The Christian population had backed Assad because Assad’s Alawites had been the protector of minorities for 70 or so years. Which does not bode well for their treatment under a new rebel Sunni Muslim regime.
I suspect that they will all be exiled from Syria, and will have to count themselves lucky to get out alive – because depending upon the degree of Western political pressure asserted, the possibility exists that they may suffer the same fate as the Armenians and Greeks of Anatolia.
It was America that armed the so-called “moderate rebels” into unseating Assad, so the fate of the Syriac Christians lies in American hands. (Note: there are no moderates here.) The Pope and Archbishop of Canterbury have long since turned their backs upon their fellow Christians of the East, so they cannot be relied upon to ensure their safety. So, it is up to Biden to help the Christians, Druze and Yazidi, until Trump is inaugurated in January.
Can we rely on Democrats to do the right thing here, bearing in mind their open ridicule and hatred of American Christians? I would not trust them one centimetre, let alone one inch.
Syria, Big Oil and Western Greed
By Ralph Ellis, 9 December 2024
Can I knock this one on the head.
Every time I mention Syria, all the limp-wristed apologists for militant Islam crawl out of the woodwork and say this is America’s fault because they want Syria’s oil.
Firstly: No, this is (was) a religious dispute between Alawites and Sunnis that has been going on for 1,300 years.
Secondly: Syria does not have enough oil to bother fighting over. Never has, never will do.
Look, the Jordan Valley fault line between the Mediterranean and Arabian plates runs straight up through Israel and through western Syria. Strike-slip fault lines like this fracture oil beds allowing them to drain out in great antiquity. This is why the Dead Sea is full of bitumen, and why Israel and Syria have no (or not much) oil.
There are many Selbsthass Westerners, who for some reason want to blame everything on the West. Yes, they blame the very liberal institutions and advanced culture that gave them their wealth and freedoms to protest – while championing the barbaric and despotic culture so openly visible within many failed Islamic states.
The apex of this stupidity is the Queers for Palestine protestors. Have they not seen how the gays of Syria and Iraq were thrown off high buildings and stoned to death? Or how the girls at the Nova music festival were systematically gang-raped and killed?
Seriously, these people are the epitome of stupidity and should be banned from voting for a minimum of 30 years.
(Note: Wait till the reports come in, of Christian, Yazidi, Druze and Kurdish girls being gang-raped by the victorious rebels.)
